Wikipage for the business project.
Business idea:
observations: the raise of nanotechnologies which has following characteristics: power, rapidity, capacity storage, very low cost, interactivity with human being and a forecast market value of 1,13 b € until 2015.
The idea: create a company that improve special glasses, eyewears. The addition of nanotechnologies will improve the glasses. Today their capacity is limited, the nanotechnologies allow to hold in a very tiny chip thousands of movies, musics, newspapers, e-books...And it works with ocular moves recognition or hands move recognition. Once improved, the glasses would be lease or sold to airplanes or railway companies. Then the journeys are improved, more entertaining: passengers can model their trip.

The Selftest:

test.jpg
My opinion about the test: I don't agree with all the results of this test. Indeed, my score on need for achievment does'nt represent my characteristics on this domain. According to this test, I prefer to be focused on the present and to be not enough determinated and persistent. But it's not true, I am looking forward, and my classmates agree with that. Moreover, I think that I would score less in the section 2: I like to work alone, not to have a boss above me that would drive my work. But I also like to work in a team and lead a project to its end. My experience in the army for two years, where all actions have to be done within a team to be achieved, are a proof of this state of mind And finally, I find my score in the latest section too much weak: it seems that I would never take risks but it's not true.

Talent management:
Teamwork, make good cooperation among units: like I said in the test, I was in the army and it helps for teamwork. You can't manage to overcome an obstacle if you do it alone.
No reluctance to work: Building his own company asks a lot of work (to find financing, to solve multiple issues, to monitor the production of the device, to watch its employee...), and I think I can face this amount of work.
Organisation: it's deals with all the stuffs an entrepreneur has to do: paperwork, supervision of the plant, or of the service delivered...

Research:
http://www.oseo.fr/aides-entreprise/banque-financement-entreprise.htm

Every company needs money to start, to find new ways to produce, to find new devices. So I think that a bank specialised in the help of new companies is useful to entrepreneurs. It helps for financing, finding solutions to issues. It also helps you to widen your vision of your business, to make it international.
http://www.salondesentrepreneurs.com/v2/index.php
This site gather entrepreneurs, it's a good one because entrepreneurs can meet other businessmen, have different ideas, different points of view on how to drive a company, how to face and overcome difficulties that could happen to small new firms.

Picture search:
Entrepreneur.gif

I find this picture interessant to describe what an entrepreneur is. Indeed we can see a man flying over a labyrinth. In this labyrinth, the men represents the business men who are stucked in the economy, who can't go forward because the business environment is too complicated and they don't find a solution to go trhough difficulties and traps. However, the man who is running can be identified as a successful entrepreneur: indeed, he runs, so he goes faster than the other. And he is carry on by a bridge, which is his business idea that allows him to overtake the others business men.

Trendwatching:

I think that all the trends are not compatible with my business idea, but some of them can be used in order to make it good.

Business as unusual: to lend some 3D glasses to passengers of travel companies can be seen as a classic western way to make money, a symbol of greed of people who can afford journeys... But in the database of file available in the inserted computer of the glasses, to put some movies or books from developing nations could be considered as an open-minded mentality, not just a "capitalist" way of life.

F(luxury): The device of my business idea is not a luxury, it's not expensive and it won't distinguish you among the other because of diamonds or gold or whatever. The luxury in a 3D glasses is that, in opposition to passengers of other companies, you are the actor of your trip, you decide, you are the commander.

Eco-easy: the idea is to lend the glasses, not to sell them for just one use and that they would be throw away and make amount of garbages accumulating. By lending, the company is eco-friendly. And to be more eco-friendly, the price can include an amount for compensation for the use of kerosene in airplanes. This is linked with the embedded generosity trend: to benefit from a luxury product but to still participate to the health and wealth of humankind.

Moreover, travelling over the website, I found that the trend "Functionnal" fits with my business idea: indeed a functionall product is, according to the site, small, simple, energy-sufficient and well-designed. 3D glasses are like that.

Next Practice- Best Practice:
The research that I made concerning Next Practice on the web came up with a strange result: according to websites, Next practice is "like tomorrow, it's never here". It's to convey nex approaches, to do things in an unusual way, to break the rules, to knock down the barriers. It seems that to apply this new fashion, you have to be a little bit silly and don't be afraid to shock people. So, as an entrepreneur, Next practice to a new society can be totally new things, a new way of work, a new way to hire people, to make things that attract the attention of people, to follow every innovations, every change in fashion, every buzz on the web and try to find in what it could help the company. May be Next practice is sometimes to be a little bit ridiculous, or a little bit crazy because it threats your company; but at the end you are the winner because nobody acts like you.

The Naked Pizza:

This company apply Next-practice. The founders have found a way to do different in their segment. Pizzas are usually linked with calories, with bad effect on the health... but these pizzas are the contrary. Then they follow the consumers trend (a healthier food in pair with fast food), they are unique and break the rules.

Competencies:

Technical and behavioral competencies for the company:

Technical:

contract competency: The idea is to lease the glass to airplanes or railways companies. It would be useful to have a person specialised in such contracts in order to solve all possible issues: conditions of use and safety, devices degradations by the customers...

marketing competency: the firm has to convince the companies that the glasses are useful for their business; that it's a very good way to make the users, the passengers very happy of their journeys and make them use again the company.

Event organisation: The device is pretty new on the market. 3D glasses has to convince people that it's an amazing product. To have a team in my company that knows how to make a marketing event that would catch people's attention is useful for the company.

Behavioral:

market intelligence: The company has to be able to adapt the device to the customer's needs and wishes.

cost consciousness: The major issue of the business is the cost of R and D in nanotechnologies. Once the technology is finished, the costs are really weak. This skill is useful to counterbalance the cost of R and D and allows to start the company, not being stucked by lack of money.

English skills: The company offers the product to airplanes or railway companies, so firms that go all over the world. My business has thus to understand the world in order to sell the device.

Interrelate and Communicate: In every company, tensions come up because people have not the same nature, the same ideas, the same way to work. It generates conflicts and it brings money losses. I prefer to have employees who communicate, who try to fix issues.

The Blue Ocean strategy:

Blue Ocean strategy is what make your company unique, with no competitors, no fight, an where you make profit. It's difficult to put it's own business in this blue ocean and not to fall in the red one where the end is not good. I think, that llike the commercial for Dell, it's a good idea to be at the entire service for the customer: in the case of my business company, it could be to answer to all demand of customers about the 3D glasses. For example the database of the inserted chip: the company implements in it what the customers want, what are the latest movies or books that are best-sellers. In terms of design, the consumers can write on the website what they want for glasses and make it happen (every color, every shape...). Then the consumer feels that the glasses are his ones, not someone else's.

NetJet: This company is really good to my opinion. Indeed, a plane is very expensive; to know how to pilot a plane cost a lot of time and a lot of money and business people often need a plane to go on business trips at the latest minute. And sometimes they miss the latest plane or train. Netjet allows to avoid this problem.

Body Shop: the company fits with two trends in societies: to be eco-friendly (the products are natural), and individualism (you can make your own body butter, it fits only with you).

The other companies (Starbucks, Nintendo Wii, eBay, Ikea, Fedex) have all find a unique selling point: they were the first to deliver their service or product that everybody was waiting for. When I look at these company, I think that my business idea can be in this blue ocean, can be a unique device that everyone was waiting for: indeed it's a funny thing because you use your arms or eyes to decide what to do and it attracts people who are very keen on new technologies. And you have at your disposal thousands of videos, movies, books... an entire database to make your journeys less boring.
